What made you choose physical therapy as a career?

I remember even as an elementary school kid, I always had an interest in anatomy as well as a love for sports and exercise. As I began my journey into physical therapy, I began to realize how much I also loved making meaningful connections with my patients, and really getting to know them as a person vs a diagnosis. I have a passion for helping those in pain or just wanting to get back to doing the things they love with less difficulty.

The best part of my job is getting to meet patients and being lucky enough to develop great working relationships to foster their recovery.

What made you get into pelvic floor rehabilitation?

I, like many women, have personal experience with difficulties with my pelvic floor. After having my son and twin girls one year and four days apart, let’s just say my pelvic floor was in need of some retraining. I found a love for it afterwards and have loved learning about the pelvic floor ever since.

I truly want all people to know and understand that you do not have to live with any leakage, pain, prolapse, or any other pelvic floor issues that you may encounter.

Why do you enjoy treating patients with orthopedic injuries?

Orthopedics has always been so intriguing to me, because it involves critical thinking and problem solving. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have always had a passion for school and learning, so, it makes sense as to why I would love problem solving! Problem solving and critical thinking are necessary tools for me to come up with new and creative treatment plans to effectively target the patient’s problem and improve their quality of life.

What made you get a running analysis certification?

I have found a passion for running over the last year, and I have found that I have many weak points in my running gait. Analyzing my running pattern has helped me decrease my plantar fascia pain, improve my weaknesses in my gluteal area, as well as focus on mobility and stability of my hips, knees, and ankles. I would love to help all of the runners around the area to not push through any ailments they may have, but to truly fix them!
